About the Engine
The engine that came on the Corolla GTi-16 (AE92) was the famous 4AGE, developed in partnership between Toyota and Yamaha, with performance in mind.
The 4AGE is rev happy and has a lot of response but without alot of power, thus making it ideal for back roads and canyon runs, here you can utilise all its power and glory.
On a more technical view, the 4AGE is a 1587cc, 4 cylinders engine, with a 1-3-4-2 firing order and 10,3:1 of compression ratio. It has a bore of 81mm and stroke of 77mm giving it an oversquare engine design, ideas for high RPM applications.
Regarding head geometry, it has 4 valves per cylinder with a 45º valve angle and diameter of 29,5mm for the intake valves and 25,5mm for the exhaust valves. The camshafts have 7,1mm of lift with a duration of 232º both intake and exhaust.
